May 25, 2007 What’s New at C77 Studios

There’s been quite a bit new around here, starting with a new addition to our family.
My wife and I brought Jackson Jared Reeves home Monday, May 7th. He was born Thursday, May 3rd, at 9lbs 1oz and (since adjusted to) 21.5” long. Everyone did great and we spent the first two weeks adjusting before settling into our new routine.
While we were in the hospital my new GALANT desk from IKEA arrived, allowing me to dismantle my larger AMON/CURRY combination that was in our family room, and set up my new home office in a corner of our condo.

I also put the finishing touches on my new web site over the past few weeks, culminating with the header photograph snapped this week. Hopefully it serves well to capture what I’m about.
The previous version of the site was a quick effort to get up something with an identity and capabilities overview. I think what I ended up with was a laundry list of technical skills. Following discussion with Dave Seah, clients and prospects, and other associates, it was clear that a shift in focus was in order.
Identity: Mark J. Reeves - C77 Studios is my interactive space, but was an unnecessary pseudo-brand. Why add layers of complexity to my own marketing and client relationships? At present, you’ll be working with Mark J. Reeves, his experience and competencies, and his associates when appropriate.
Focus: Marketing - Those that turn to me for strict development and coding efforts know what I’m good at and what I’ve done. For the rest, I have plenty of references and case studies to highlight my capabilities in front-end, web application and database development.
Those that turn to me to handle their online marketing projects and web site strategy deserve exposure to my ideas, thought processes, and opinions, and so the emphasis here is on marketing strategy experience and thinking. The goal is for this site to be the starting point for conversation about possibilities and goals: what you can and should do.
The Services link summarizes Strategy and Execution capabilities that constitute my core offering. My intention there is to provide a combination of 1) definition, 2) calls-to-action to get you, client or prospect, excited about the opportunities available to you, and 3) summarize experience.
Finally, I’ve been uploading screenshots highlighting recent projects to Flickr for a quick portfolio. You’ll see that over to the right.
